The Role

My client is looking for a skilled and experienced Buyer / Estimator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for procuring materials and services necessary for construction projects while also accurately estimating costs associated with those projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, negotiation abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of construction materials and processes.

Requirements:

·        Managing the day-to-day project procurement of materials from existing agreements.

·        Building and maintaining strong working relationships with external suppliers.

·        Developing and managing negotiations of terms with suppliers.

·        To monitor the performance, quality, prices, and development of all suppliers.

·        Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements of materials and services.

·        Preparing and maintaining cost reports to maximise efficiency within the company.

·        Identifying potential suppliers and new products.

·        Liaising regularly with Contracts Managers and Surveyors to ensure all material deliveries are timely and accurate.
